Caroline was one of the first female African-American professionals in the advertising industry. She held the position of Vice President at several renowned agencies including Omnicom’s BBDO and WPP’s J Walter Thompson. She specialised in minority advertising.

 

Rationale:

Not only was she was one of the first black women in a traditionally white male industry, but she was also excellent at what she did. Case in point – she created the famous L’Oréal tagline, “Because you’re worth it”. She then went on to succeed in business by establishing her own agencies – Caroline Jones Advertising, Zebra Associates and Mingo-Jones.
