How would you say your experience in the fashion industry has influenced your work in PR?

Briefly working in fashion for a few brands and as a writer lead me into PR. Helping to organise events and then having to mingle with the attendees opened my eyes to the power of that level of communication.

Having worked as a senior creative strategist at some of London’s top agencies on some of the world’s biggest brands, what would you say are the biggest difficulties when it comes to brand storytelling?

This is a difficult one but I think from my experience, the biggest difficulty is navigating the space in which brands want to tell a story vs.

What are the industries you think have the most exciting futures ahead? (Particularly in terms of the potential for social good)

Smart fabrics, digital image production (across all sectors), AI design and services you can personalise through machine learning are going to see some really exciting times.

Are there any brands or campaigns that have caught your eye recently?

I love brands that can tell a story and link to current events in a profound way. Guinness did this well for St. Patrick’s Day in March.

Can you tell us about one of your favourite brands and why you love them?

Palace for the jokes captions they have for items on their web store. For example:

“WAXIMUM ECHO TECH FLEECE HOOD”

  • IF YOU THINK YOU ARE FLOSSING
  • BUY A BRAND NEW WHITE PALACE JUMPER
  • GO FOR A CURRY IN IT
  • AND SEE HOW WORRIED YOU ARE
  • ABOUT STAINING IT

They are so true to form & personality lead in all they do – it’s like having a friend rather than liking a brand which is powerful.
